What Personal Training at WilCo Actually Means

Up to three adults may share the hour, but they do not share a workout. Each person has their own program, their own loads, their own progression, and their own priorities.

This is not a small-group class where one workout is modified for different levels. WilCo begins with separate individual programs. The clients share the room and the coaching environment, not the exercises.

Train beside other people. Never disappear inside their workout.

The maximum-three cap preserves real-time coaching, individual attention, and immediate adjustment. It is a capacity choice, not a class model.

Why Experience Matters When Hiring a Personal Trainer

Anyone can search for an exercise. The harder part is deciding what exercise fits the person, how much to do, what to progress, what to remove, how to adjust around a limitation, and when the problem is not the workout at all.

The Coach Who Built the System Is the Coach Responsible for Your Program

No rotating staff. No handoff. No franchise script. Tom personally assesses, programs, coaches, and adjusts every adult client’s training.

Exercises Are Easy to Find. Coaching Judgment Is Earned.

That judgment- when to progress, when to pull back, when the issue is nutrition or recovery rather than effort- is built through education plus years of coaching real people with different goals, ages, and limitations.

Proof Across Populations

Tom has coached everyday adults, athletes over 50, world-champion grapplers, professional MMA competitors, and pro cheerleaders, with the same seriousness about coaching and a completely different plan for each person.

Tom Hill, CSCS

More than 17 years and 20,000+ hours coaching everyone from adults who had never loved fitness to clients in their 70s, collegiate athletes, professionals, and world champions.

Who Personal Training at WilCo Is For

If you see yourself below, the Free Intro Session is the right next step.

Former Athletes

You used to be athletic and want to feel like yourself again, adjusted for where your body is now, not where it was at 22.

Busy Professionals & Parents

You have money for coaching but little time. You need an efficient plan that removes decision fatigue and survives real-life logistics.

Weight-Loss & Body Composition

You want visible, sustainable change, not another crash diet or cardio phase that reverses itself in three months.

Strength & Muscle Builders

You want to get meaningfully stronger or add size with a structured, progressive plan not random workouts.

Adults Over 50, 60 or 70

You refuse to accept getting weaker as inevitable. You want strength, mobility, confidence and independence for the years ahead.

Beginners

You feel intimidated by gyms and unsure about form or equipment. You need a safe, patient starting point, not a beatdown.

Plateaued Exercisers

You already train but cannot create the next adaptation. You need better programming and objective feedback, not more effort.

Post-Rehab Clients

You finished appropriate medical care and need a bridge back to general strength and fitness with a coach who knows the boundaries.

Recreational Athletes

Golf, pickleball, hiking, BJJ, your activity creates a specific physical goal that benefits from structured strength and conditioning.

Why You Keep Starting Over With Fitness

Most struggling adults do not need to be told they are lazy. The problem is often not effort, it is the system surrounding the effort.

No clear goal

“I just want to get in shape” is too vague to guide programming. Define what success actually means.

No baseline

If you never establish a starting point, every week becomes a feeling instead of a measurement.

Random workouts

Activity without progressive training can burn calories and create sweat without building a path toward a result.

Program hopping

Changing methods every few weeks prevents staying long enough to learn what works.

All-or-nothing thinking

One missed workout becomes a missed week. Coaching should teach recovery from imperfect days.

No progressive overload

Doing the same work indefinitely stops creating the same adaptation.

Nutrition inconsistency

An hour of training cannot erase an entire week of eating patterns that conflict with the goal.

No accountability

If nobody notices whether the plan is followed, urgent life demands replace health goals.

No feedback loop

If the trainer never reassesses, the program can keep solving a problem you no longer have.

Unrealistic timeline

Comparing your month one to someone else’s year five and deciding the plan has failed.

Stop restarting. Start adjusting.

The answer is not more motivation. It is a clear goal, the right plan, consistent execution, feedback and adjustment. That is what coaching provides.

Personal Training FAQ

Yes. WilCo provides individualized personal training through its Adult Strength & Fitness program. You may train beside one or two other adults, but your plan, loads, progressions and priorities remain your own.

The cap preserves real-time coaching, attention and adjustment while allowing some social energy. It is a capacity choice, not a class model.

Not automatically. A great one-on-one trainer can be excellent. A poor one-on-one trainer is still poor coaching. The question is whether the program is individualized, progressive, well coached and measured, not how many people are in the room.

It depends on the goal, schedule, training history and recovery. Many adults make meaningful progress with two coached strength sessions per week plus appropriate activity through the rest of the week.

No. The job of the assessment is to establish where you actually are. Every program starts from your real starting point, not an assumed one.
